EVESHAM United Paul West wanted a response from his side following their shock FA Trophy exit against Northwood and got it at the npower Loop Meadow Stadium.
The Robins held a comfortable two-goal lead at the interval and never looked back to remain seven games unbeaten in the Zamaretto League Premier Division. Once again, Evesham's watertight defence did the business, keeping a sixth league blank of the season.
After Steve Lutz had struck the Didcot woodwork, the Evesham skipper opened the scoring on 36 minutes with an unstoppable drive from 20 yards.
The home side responded immediately, Ian Sampson’s header was brilliantly touched onto the crossbar and over by Nathan Vaughan.
The Railwaymen, however, were left with it all to do when Jermaine Clarke gave Evesham a two-goal cushion.
He drilled in a shot past Matt Trott with seven minutes left in the half.
There was still time before the break for Clarke to strike a post with Trott beaten.
Didcot were reduced to 10 men on 65 minutes, Sampson dismissed for a two-footed tackle on Mark Hands.
Despite a succession of corners, Didcot failed to trouble Vaughan.
