BROMSGROVE Rovers manager John Snape hopes his side can look forward to better times when they visit Soham Town Rangers on Saturday (3pm).

The Victoria Ground club were buoyed by a 2-1 victory at Leighton and are confident of more Zamaretto League Division One Midlands success in Cambridgeshire.

Last weekend’s win, when Luke Finley and Danny Scheppel were on target, also lifted John Snape’s team out of the relegation zone despite their 10-point deduction for going into administration.

Snape expects to get an update on the progress of prospective new owner Mike Ward’s offer for the club from administrator Andrew Fender, of Sanderlings LLP, at training tonight.

The manager said: “It was an excellent win at Leighton and the scoreline flattered them. We missed a couple of good chances and they scored in the last minute.

“It was a very good performance and one which hopefully can lead to us turning the corner.”

Rovers’ injury situation has not got much better, however, with defender Matt Gardiner and striker Josh McKenzie long-term absentees with a broken arm and fractured ankle respectively.

Striker Mark Owen has a hernia problem, while midfielders Kevin Banner (heel) and Gary Ray (illness) are doubts.

Midfielder Marlon Waters serves the second of a three-match ban and forward Dexter Ravenhill is still suspended by Worcestershire FA for a Sunday league red card.

But teenage Worcester City forward Jack Connolly could be involved again after coming off the substitutes’ bench at Leighton.
