STOURPORT climbed to third spot in Midlands Women’s Hockey League Division One with a 2-1 win at Sutton Coldfield Seconds.

They took the lead after a strong start when good passing let Rene Johnson in from midfield to score.

But the hosts hit back and levelled before the break following a short corner.

Stourport were frustrated by the Sutton keeper in the second-half until Kate Fletcher swooped for the winner five minutes from time.

Stourport’s pacy player-of-the-match Liz Cooke worked hard all over the pitch.

The rampant seconds buried Luton 7-1 in the Midlands Conference South as Caroline Sidell bagged a hat-trick.

Sidell scored twice in the first-half to sandwich an effort from youngster Jade Marshall-Walker.

Sidell completing her treble in the second period alongside strikes from Melissa Kennedy, player-of-the-match Shelley Tromans and Alex Totney.

Luton forced some fine saves out of keeper Viv Wakeman and grabbed a breakaway goal.

Stourport Thirds took the derby honours in Worcestershire League Division Two.

Player-of-the-match Louise Bagnall scored twice as they beat Kidderminster 3-1 at home after Alison Baron put Stourport ahead.

The fourths drew 2-2 at Ludlow in Division Three with Denise Brandon and player-of-the-match Caroline Wilson on target.

Stourport were denied more goals by the keeper and a controversial late equaliser from a short corner.

Stourport Men’s Sevenths won 4-1 at Bromsgrove Fourths with Chris Davis, Lee Marsh, Josh Martin and Steve Li scoring.
