KIDDERMINSTER Carolians crashed to a 12-5 defeat at Coventry side Barkers Butts — their third Midlands Two West (South) loss in a row.
Despite losing captain Layton Wilkinson to a yellow card, KCs managed to finish the first-half in the lead.
On the stroke of half-time, the visitors took the lead with a try from prop Matt Rigsby, who finished off a catch-and-drive move from an attacking line-out.
Andy McLellan’s conversion attempt missed narrowly but KC’s went into the break having denied the hosts a single scoring opportunity.
After the break, Butts’ tight-head prop bulldozed over from a close-range penalty to level the scores.
Three minutes later, a KCs clearance kick was mis-cued and fell kindly for the home team’s outside-centre.
Most of the away side were in front of the ball, so when it was off-loaded to the full-back he was able to run unopposed to touch down for the decisive converted try.
