TEN-man Malvern clawed their way back from 3-0 down to salvage a draw at Friar Lane & Epworth in Aspire Midland Alliance.
Friar Lane were three goals up after 40 minutes with a hat-trick from Ronnie White, but the visitors staged a fine comeback.
Despite being down to 10 men for the final half-an-hour when Kyle Knott was injured and unable to continue after all the substitutions had been made, Malvern battled for a point.
Friar Lane started brightly and Alex Hards was called upon to make a double save before Craig Williams cleared off the line. White struck on 21 minutes before adding two more to put the hosts firmly in control.
Jordan Wakeling deflected in Malvern’s first goal on 59 minutes. Knott then made it 3-2 before Andrew Crosskey was fouled in the box and Bryan Craven converted the spot-kick.
In injury time, the referee awarded the hosts a penalty before changing his mind — to Malvern’s relief — after seeing his assistant had flagged for off-side.
