MANAGER Paul West feels it is only a matter of time before Evesham United get back on the goals trail.
The Robins head to Middlesex side Northwood in the FA Trophy second qualifying round on Saturday (3pm) having drawn their last four Zamaretto League Premier Division matches 0-0.
However, they did beat Cinderford Town 1-0 in the Red Insure Cup on Tuesday with Justin Rowe on target and the manager has confidence in the ability of his players.
“We had six up front at the end of Saturday’s game at Rugby so it’s frustrating we are not scoring too many goals at the moment,” he said.
“In the last two games we have hit the crossbar, the post and had shots cleared off the line, which shows we’re going in the right direction.
“But it’s not just about the centre-forwards, it’s up to everybody to try to score, particularly at set-pieces.
“We are still creating chances, which is important, and the clean sheets show we’re defending collectively. We’ve just got to maintain what we’re doing and our luck will change.”
Defender Steve Luckett is struggling to be fit to face the Ryman League Division One North outfit after limping off with a dead leg at Cinderford.
But winger Joe Cole and defender Steve Hands (hamstring) have returned to training.
Keeper Richard Mace has joined the squad following his release by Worcester City and midfielder Craig Thomas is in contention after making his debut against Cinderford.
West added: “Every game we have had this season so far has been tough, including the cup matches. Everyone has to up their game slightly.
“I expect Northwood to be a similar game to the Windsor clash in the last round. We want to progress in the FA Trophy but it will be a tough match.”
