STRUGGLING Stourport gave up a two-goal lead in a 3-2 defeat at Old Georgians in England Hockey League Men’s Conference West.
After Dan Packwood’s penalty stroke was saved, Stourport’s Phil Lashford and Andrew Langlands hit the target only for the hosts to net three times in 11 minutes.
The sevenths romped to a 13-4 win over Old Wulfrunians with Chris Davis (5), player-of-the-match Chris Smith (5), Alastair McIntyre (2) and Allan Moss scoring.
Meanwhile, Stourport Women are on the verge of the Midlands Division One top three after a 1-1 draw at Edgbaston with Liz Cooke on target.
The visitors grabbed an early led through a speedy attack led by Cooke.
Jodi Vincent’s effort was then disallowed as the half-time whistle blew before it went in.
Stourport’s game slowed in the second period and they conceded an equaliser from a short corner.
The seconds went down 3-0 at home to Birmingham University Thirds in Midlands Conference South.
Keeper Sally Smith produced fine saves to deny the students but was powerless to prevent a one-goal lead at the interval.
Although they went close on several occasions in the second period and defender Sarah Taylor impressed as player-of-the-match, Birmingham scored twice more in the final five minutes.
Rhiannon Linnington-Payne was at the double for Stourport Thirds as they won 3-1 at Harborne Fourths in Worcestershire League Division Two.
They have now won all five league games to top the table after taking the lead through Abbie Yapp.
Harborne caught Stourport out to level but Linnington-Payne scrambled home two goals in the second-half.
In Division Three, Stourport Fourths lost 3-2 at leaders Harborne Fifths.
Caroline Wilson and Denise Brandon were on target as Stourport went 2-1 ahead at one point but they could not hold on.
Joint players-of-the-match were youngster Katie Walker and Chris Corcoran.
