A MUCH-depleted Bromsgrove suffered their first home defeat of the season, losing 27-21 to Kenilworth in National Three Midlands.
On 18 minutes, the Kenilworth outside-centre intercepted a pass in his own half and out-sprinted the defence to touch down.
Following an injury delay, Bromsgrove lost concentration and allowed Kenilworth to pick-and-drive and force flanker Andy Blaydon over for a try and a 12-point lead at half-time.
Kenilworth started the second period by forcing three penalties, which they kicked to the corner and bagged another catch-and-drive try.
Bromsgrove came to life and excellent work by the back row resulted in Kevin Salisbury diving over. From the re-start, Bromsgrove attacked again and number eight Drew Harper helped send Ben Copson over under the posts.
James Lloyd-Jones was then held up just short of the line, but the ball was recycled to Dan Quinn who crashed over to give Bromsgrove a 21-19 lead.
A penalty gifted Kenilworth the lead once again, before another offence allowed the visitors to kick to touch deep in home territory.
Their well-drilled forwards kept it tight, drove and drove again before forcing over for the winning score.
