KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Mark Yates has left his players in no doubt about where they need to improve at Fleetwood Town tonight (7.45) in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay.

The Aggborough side were forced to settle for a goalless draw against the Blue Square North high-fliers at the weekend after having skipper Chris McPhee sent off.

Yates has made it clear to his players what needs to change at Highbury and admitted: “Where do we need to improve? We need to improve full stop.

“Our work ethic wasn’t as good as it has been in recent weeks and that needs to change. When your work ethic is good, everything becomes a lot sharper.”

The winners of the replay will go on to face League Two side Northampton Town at Sixfields in the first round.

Harriers know the importance of a good cup run after the cash made from last season’s visit to the third round — around £160,000 — put them on the verge of a Blue Square Premier play-off spot.

“There is no reason why we can’t do it again,” Yates said. “We are not out of anything at the moment.

“We are going to Fleetwood looking to get the win and progress to the next round.”

With McPhee beginning a three-match ban, Yates may look to recall Dean Bennett for the trip to Fleetwood after the former Chester midfielder deputised during the skipper’s ankle injury absence.

“There are one or two options we have got to come in for Chris,” Yates said.

“We had a good training session yesterday morning and I’ll have a think before making my decision.

“Fleetwood are a good side, we knew that before Saturday, and now the players certainly know it.

“But, if we play to our potential, then we should be alright.”
