BOTH Bromsgrove Rovers and Stourport Swifts will be looking to bounce back from weekend defeats when they clash in the Red Insure Cup first round at the Victoria Ground tomorrow night (7.45).
Cash-strapped Rovers, who were placed in administration last week, fell to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Hitchin after a mistake from keeper Karl Lewis in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.
While Rovers were losing to the Canaries, Swifts fell foul of a late goal at Slough Town in a 3-2 reverse.
John Snape’s Bromsgrove have now lost their last two league outings, while Neil Hunt’s Swifts are also looking to avoid a third successive defeat.
Evesham United will look to progress into the next round when they visit Division One South and West strugglers Cinderford Town (7.45).
The Robins are desperate to find some confidence in front of goal, having only scored 10 times in 11 league outings following a goalless draw at Rugby Town on Saturday.
The trip to the Causeway should provide them with that opportunity as the Foresters have conceded 27 goals in the league this term.
Paul West’s men have endured four successive Premier Division goalless draws and not found the target in the league since the beginning of September when they cruised to a 4-1 victory at Clevedon Town.
Cinderford have lost all but one of their league matches, the solitary victory being a 5-0 crushing of Uxbridge at the Causeway, but have only failed to find the net on three occasions.
