WORCESTER Wolves slipped to an agonising British Basketball League defeat at high-flying Everton Tigers.
Wolves opened confidently with a looping three-point basket from Chey Christie.
Three long-range efforts from Evaldas Zabas and Vidmantas Uzkuraitis helped the Wolves to a 24-21 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Steady Wolves maintained a slight advantage until Tigers’ Stephen Rush put them 42-41 ahead at half-time.
Simon Stewart helped Wolves to a 58-50 lead before Tigers took control of the third quarter. There was then little separating the sides but several spectacular Tigers plays guided them to victory.
Wolves were let down by missed free throws as Harry Disy top-scored with 20 and Zabas added 19.
