WORCESTER City entertain Weston-super-Mare tonight looking to leap-frog their opponents in Blue Square South (7.45).
A win for Richard Dryden’s team in front of their home fans would take them above the Seagulls in the table and make it three unbeaten in the league.
City, who were without a match on Saturday, drew 2-2 against Hampton and Richmond nine days ago but Weston will be playing their second game in 48 hours following a 0-0 draw at Maidenhead United.
Worcester trained over the weekend and Dryden is hoping Weston’s schedule will work to City’s advantage.
He said: “The lads who have worked really hard will appreciate the couple of extra days rest.
“Hopefully, Weston will have had a hard game at Maidenhead. They have got a lot of travelling to do so hopefully it will work in our favour.”
City crashed 3-1 on the Somerset coast at the beginning of September with Craig Wilding bagging a second-half equaliser.
Dryden was fuming after that performance and is looking to put the record straight.
“Everybody wants to win games,” he added.
“I was disappointed to lose at their place and that was the only time the back four have let us down all season.
“Our defenders Mark Clyde, Tom Kemp and Wayne Daniel will want to put that right. Revenge is possibly a bit strong but we want to win the game.”
Striker Marc McGregor is poised to make his debut against his former club, while midfielders Wilding and Gary Walker are both expected to be fit. Left-sided player Alfie Carter is back from injury but Louis Bridges will miss out with ankle ligament trouble.
