GOALKEEPER Dean Coleman produced a man-of-the match performance as Kidderminster Harriers were held by impressive Fleetwood at Aggborough.

The shot-stopper didn’t let an uncertain first-half affect him as he produced a slew of saves after the break to keep Micky Mellon’s outfit at bay.

The draw was a fair result as the Blue Square North side more than matched Harriers throughout and can count themselves unlucky not to have scored.

That was mainly down to Coleman, who produced three impressive stops during an end-to-end second-half.

But Harriers suffered a 93rd-minute setback when captain Chris McPhee was shown a straight red card for a late challenge on Jamie McGuire, ruling him out of the replay at Highbury Stadium tomorrow (7.45pm).

The hosts survived a scare when striker Gareth Seddon raced onto a pass from Nathan Pond but he blazed over the bar with just the keeper to beat.

Another chance went begging for the away side as Harriers’ defence creaked but Tom Cahill fired over.

Harriers were struggling to get into the game and a good chance was wasted by Matthew Barnes-Homer, who smashed his free-kick from 25-yards out high over the bar in the 20th minute.

Brian Smikle was denied soon after, keeper Danny Hurst arching backwards to pull off a fine one-handed save.

David McDermott, who was booked for kicking the ball away, then jinked his way into Fleetwood’s box but Hurst made a decent low save.

Manager Mark Yates was incensed when Sean Clancy wasn’t booked for a clumsy challenge from behind on McDermott as he raced down the right wing.

A comedy of errors almost allowed the away side to score in the 51st minute. John Finnigan lost the ball in midfield to Clancy and Gavin Caines failed to cut out the midfielder’s through-ball to Cahill. Luckily, the hitman’s shot canonned off Coleman’s chest.

Fleetwood had another good chance to go ahead in the 63rd minute, when Pond headed Jamie Milligan’s free-kick wide.

Coleman kept the scores level with a fine 77th minute save, diving at full-stretch to tip over Seddon’s 30-yard blockbuster.

The Harriers keeper produced more heroics in the 87th minute when he put Milligan’s accurate free-kick over the bar.
