HEREFORD United manager John Trewick is able to retain the strength of his squad for at least another month.

He has secured the services of striker Craig King until the end of the season and winger Mark Marshall for an extra month.

The Bulls chief was made to sweat over on-loan Peterborough United defender Danny Blanchett.

The Posh went out and signed Ryan Bennett on loan from League Two side Grimsby Town with a view to a permanent move when the transfer window opens in January before agreeing to let Blanchett leave.

The agreement to keep the youngster at Edgar Street was not made until yesterday afternoon — just hours before they made the trip to Bradford City for today’s League Two clash. Blanchett, like Marshall, will stay with the Bulls until November.

Meanwhile, defender Ryan Green is enjoying his spell at the heart of Hereford’s defence despite being a full-back.

He said: “When I was 17 years old, I started off my Welsh career as a sweeper and that’s a very similar role.

“I suppose I was always destined to be a central defender but I stopped growing.

“I am not as attacking as I was in my first spell at Hereford, but I think I am a better defender now.”
