WARNDON Villages Sharks Under 12s bagged a crucial 2-0 success over title rivals Nunnery Wood Tigers in the Stourport Youth League, producing some of their best football of the season.
Sharks dominated the early stages with keeper Toby Wilcox saving well from Andy Murphy, James Stevens and Matt Sowden.
Tigers went close themselves before Sharks eventually made their chances pay with Stevens blazing home a shot from Sowden’s pass.
The second-half was more of a midfield battle but only two great saves from keeper Harry Stanley prevented a Tigers equaliser.
Sharks secured the points in the last few minutes with a goal from Jai Gilchrist.
UNDER NINES: Warndon Villages Rhinos defended heroically but could not stop Nunnery Wood Scorpions winning 2-0.
Finley Stanley’s efforts at the back epitomised the spirit of the Rhinos who fell to two first-half strikes.
