IT’S business as usual at Bromsgrove Rovers as far as manager John Snape is concerned this weekend.
Rovers host Hitchin Town at the Victoria Ground on Saturday (3pm) for their first game since being placed into administration and deducted 10 points in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.
Administrator Andrew Fender of Sanderlings LLP is dealing with potential buyers for the club, which has debts in the region of £600,000, and manager Snape has already received interest in several of his players.
However, no transfer activity has yet taken place and the former Worcester City midfielder is trying to keep his squad focused on Saturday’s match.
Hitchin are third in the table and Rovers now find themselves second-from-bottom following their points deduction.
Snape said: “We haven’t had any more approaches for players that I am aware of and I will take it from there.
“There’s still lots of rumours and maybes so, until somebody tells me in black and white what’s happening, we just have to carry on as normal.
“Hitchin are one of the favourites for the league and, having spoken to Stourport Swifts manager Neil Hunt, he says they are the best side he has played so we expect a difficult game.
“Hopefully we will have a positive reaction to the week’s events.”
Rovers, who lost 3-1 to Kidderminster Harriers in a mid-week Worcestershire FA Senior Cup tie, have injury doubts over right-back Luke Darby (dead leg), midfielder Gary Ray (calf strain) and central defender Jemiah Richards (ankle).
