TWO brothers, Jason and Neil Allies, enjoyed a weekend of success at The Worcestershire Golf Club.
They won the final of the Ledbury Cup foursome matchplay competition, which involves four or five rounds against fellow members of all standards.
In the final, they overcame Jamie Dunster (plus one) and Nick Smith (seven) 4&3 with some impressive golf.
The losers had to concede two strokes but were never quite able to raise their game to their opponents’ level.
The Allies signalled their intentions early on when Jason drove to the fringe of the green on the 323-yard first hole. They reached the turn two holes ahead and shook hands on the 15th green.
Two days later, the winners travelled to Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxfordshire to take part in a regional qualifying round of The Daily Telegraph better-ball competition.
They managed to take third place with 44 stableford points, which guarantees them a visit to Portugal for the final.
