A WOMEN’S team containing players from Sapey Golf Club finished runners-up at the Tyrol Trophy in Austria.
The team was made up of Stourport residents Angela Whetton and Netty Kirk as well as Kidderminster’s Tina Wooldridge.
The ladies finished nine stableford points behind winners Foxhill GC over the three-day tournament, which was played on a trio of courses.
They qualified for the tournament for the third year in succession by coming second at the national finals in Bristol.
The Worcestershire girls side won the Midlands South Championships at Temple Golf Club in Berkshire.
The team, which contained Kidderminster GC’s Megan Perry, Emily Hyde from Bewdley Pines GC and Ombersely GC’s Gemma Glennister, got the better of a side from Oxfordshire 3½-2½.
The team was organised by Rhona Humphries.
Rosie Cheeseman beat Holli Ward in the final of the ladies’ summer knock-out at Bewdley Pines.
