HEREFORD United host play-off chasing Chesterfield on Saturday (3pm) looking to preserve their four-match unbeaten run.
The Bulls have drawn two League Two games on the spin since beating pace-setters Bournemouth 2-1 at Edgar Street last month.
However, John Trewick’s men face a tough test as the Spireites, also unbeaten in their last four outings, are going well just one point outside the play-offs.
They arrive on the back of a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over the Cherries at Dean Court last weekend.
Honours were even the last time the two sides met in the 2007/8 campaign prior to the Bulls’ one-season sojourn in League One.
Sherjill MacDonald and Gary Hooper fired Hereford to a 2-0 Edgar Street success but Chesterfield won a televised tie at Saltergate 4-0.
Winger Mark Marshall is likely to start for Trewick’s side in the last game of his one-month loan spell from Swindon.
But the game is likely to come too soon for fellow wideman Jonny Godsmark, who has just started training again after a six-week lay-off.
Meanwhile, manager Trewick has spoken out in praise of the club’s new captain, former Kidderminster Harriers shot-stopper Adam Bartlett.
The ex-England ‘C’ keeper, who began his career at Newcastle United, has been in excellent form for the Bulls since arriving at Edgar Street in the summer.
Trewick said: “Things have gone well for Adam because he’s a good pro and works hard at his game.
“He was at a bigger club when he was a young lad and his path was blocked because he had Shay Given and Steve Harper ahead of him at Newcastle.
“Adam went to a couple of non-league clubs and then found his way to Kidderminster in the Conference where he had a very good season.
“He was determined to move to the next level into the Football League.”
Trewick added: “Adam works hard at his game and wants to improve. He’s always cheerful and has an excellent attitude.
“It has not always been plain sailing for him because one or two things went against him in pre-season.
“But he was willing to listen to advice and learnt from those things. At the moment, everything is going well for Adam and long may that continue.”
