EVESHAM United manager Paul West has moved to end speculation linking him with the top job at Leamington.

The Brakes are searching for a new manager after axing Jason Cadden following nine years in charge at the New Windmill Ground.

However, Robins chief West insists he still has a job to do with Evesham.

“Of course, it is flattering when you get linked to other clubs — it means you are doing something right,” he said.

“But there are big things happening here and I want to be a part of it. Work is set to start on our new ground after Christmas and it would nice if I was in charge when we move there.

“Everyone knows I would like a little more money from the chairman here, but I’m fully focused on the job at hand.”

West, who has guided Evesham to Zamaretto Premier Division and looking to kick-start their season when they host Windsor and Eton in the FA Trophy first qualifying round at St George’s Lane tomorrow, signed a new two-year deal with the Robins in August.

However, Leamington do have the resources that West can only dream of at Evesham.

“I wouldn’t know what to do with all that money,” West joked. “You never say, never, but my job is here at Eve-sham.

“There is always speculation when a job becomes vacant - it is when the speculation stops that you have to worry.”
