STOURPORT Swifts boss Neil Hunt hopes his side can build on their thrilling 5-4 victory over basement boys Aylesbury United when they head to Bedworth United on Saturday (3pm).

The Walshes Meadow outfit have made a good start in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands and Hunt is keen that his charges see off another of the division’s strugglers at the Oval.

“The Aylesbury game was more about getting points on the board than the performance and at this stage of the season I want us to do the same at Bedworth,” Hunt said.

“The target is to pick up as many points as possible by the turn of the year and then gauge if we can mount a serious assault on the play-offs.”

Ex-Wolves trainee Chris Cornes struck twice against the Ducks in his second match back for Swifts.

Hunt said: “This was Chris’ second game since he rejoined us and he is looking fitter and sharper.”

Available again after suspensions are forward Wes Joyce, winger Jamie Insall and centre-half Andy Jones.

Swifts could climb up to second spot if they win by two clear goals or more.
