DROITWICH maintained their unbeaten record despite a lacklustre and uninspiring 9-9 Midlands Two West (South) draw at Coventry-based Barkers Butts.
The game started at a fast pace with both sides committed to attack and the visitors took the lead through a penalty by James Metcalfe.
Barkers drew level with a penalty of their own and the half-time interval saw the scores level at 3-3.
After the break, the strong running of full-back Chris Hooper was the only positive aspect of the Spa side’s play.
More poor defending by the visitors saw Barkers pressure the line and they soon took the lead with a penalty.
A good line-out take by skipper Phil Horton allowed Dean Goodard to move the ball forward and draw the home side into an infringement.
Hooper slotted the kick to level the scores again.
A good break by the Barkers Butts centre saw them go close before kicking a penalty to take the lead as the game entered the final quarter.
Good work by James Protherough and Rob Dowdeswell gave Metcalfe a penalty kick to bring the scores level yet again. Hooper had an attempt to win the game with the last kick of the game, but his long-range effort drifted wide.
