KIDDERMINSTER Carolians came away from Silhillians empty-handed after a narrow 22-20 defeat in Midlands Two West (South).
The hosts’ number eight broke the deadlock with a try, which was converted.
The visitors then stole line-out ball and Layton Wilkinson drove over for a try, converted by Andy McLellan.
Five minutes later, Rob Delahay touched down to put KCs 12-7 ahead.
Two Kidderminster defenders dithered and allowed a loitering Sils player to score a converted try.
KCs regained the lead with a McLellan penalty, but the hosts landed a drop-goal.
Mark Oliver scored from a catch-and-drive to put the visitors 20-17 in front before Sils had a penalty chance to level the scores.
They chose to go for the win and kicked to touch. KCs cleared, but Sils staged one last attack which resulted in the decisive score.
