TERRY Jenkins was beaten 5-2 by an on-song Phil Taylor in the semi-final of the Skybet World Grand Prix in Dublin.
Taylor applied the pressure to Ledbury’s Jenkins, winning six of the opening seven legs to take control.
He landed double 16 in the opener before Jenkins levelled on double four, but a double eight finish edged Taylor back in front before he landed a 180 and a 96 finish in taking the set.
Taylor took the second set without reply, but Jenkins pulled it back to 2-1. The Bull took the lead in the fourth set, but Taylor fought back for a 3-1 advantage.
After losing the fifth set, Jenkins rallied to make it 4-2, but Taylor was too strong, taking the match on double four.
On Friday, Jenkins stormed past Andy Smith in straight sets to reach the semi-finals.
