ROB Humphreys retained the Peter Reynolds Bowl on finals day at Worcester Golf and Country Club — the first player to do so in the history of the trophy.

Humphreys defeated Andy Bradley three-and-one in a nip-and-tuck game.

There was a family double at Boughton Park as Humphreys’ son, Jack, lifted the Terry Band Shield by defeating Jamie Hodges.

Another player to retain a trophy was scratch golfer Lee Richardson, who defeated Duncan Macpherson five-and-four in the final of the Scratch Cup.

Ken Murton lifted the Norman Duggan Cup in a nail-biting finish, pipping Bill Sheridan on the 18th green.

Alan Lane won his first trophy at the club by defeating John Hill in the final of the Francis Marrian Trophy.

The Chairman’s Cup — a betterball pairs competition — was won by Chris Kyte and Don Hooper, who were pushed all the way by Graham Peplow and Graham Hubbard.

The family mixed foursomes final was won by club vice-captain Julian Gadd and his wife Jenny, who defeated Stella and John Wood.

Gale-force winds made for high scoring in the October medal, but Dave Lannie mastered the conditions, recording 77-8-69 to finish top of Division One, pushing Andy Abbott (76-7-69) into second on countback.

Ronnie Carver (78-8-70) finished third on countback in front of Kevin Truby (79-9-70). Lannie also won the Burrows Cup, which is awarded to the player recording the lowest nett.

Rob Humphreys made it a good weekend by also winning Division Two.

He recorded the division’s lowest gross with 82-13-69, beating Ian Gardner (83-14-69) on countback with Hubbard (85-14-71) in third spot.

Division Three was won by Melvyn Merry (87-17-70), Tony Hudson was second with 89-17-72 and Keith Morris third with 89-17-72.

Merry notched the division’s lowest gross.
