EVESHAM United boss Paul West wants to see more from Troy Wood after extending his loan period for another month.
The Robins are looking to bounce back from their first home league defeat of the season on Saturday (3pm) when they face Hitchin Town at St George’s Lane in the British Gas Business Premier Division.
Having lost 1-0 to Cambridge City last Saturday, West says his team were lacking in attack despite playing three up-front.
Now that he has extended the loan spell of the diminutive Worcester City winger, West wants to see Wood show why he was playing at the level above.
“He has now had a month to settle and get his match fitness back so now I’m expecting to see Troy pull up trees to try and get back into the Worcester City side,” the Robins boss said.
“I have expected a little more from him while he has been at Evesham but you have got to remember that he hadn’t played 90 minutes for a long time.
“He has now done that for three games on the bounce so now is his time to show us what he can really do.
“We were a little bit powder-puff in attack last week and that is something that will have to change tomorrow.”
West is hoping to have striker Gary Hay back from a groin strain for the visit of Hitchin, while midfielder Steve Lutz has returned to light training after having the cast removed following his broken metatarsal.
