DROITWICH Men’s Seconds go into the Christmas break on a high after thrashing Tamworth 6-2 in West Midlands Hockey League Division One.

Pete Best scored two goals on his return but second-placed Droitwich twice had to equalise through Simon Baines and Mike Langstone.

In the second-half, Spa endured pressure before a close-range finish from Best put them ahead for the first time.

Best converted a penalty flick soon after and Baines added a fifth from Mark Watton’s assist. The rout was completed by Chris Wade from a short corner after Luke Wicks’ pass.
