KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Mark Yates says he is yet to discuss recruiting new players with chairman Barry Norgrove.

Yates will be hoping to spend some of the money from the club’s lucrative FA Cup run on his squad when the transfer window opens at the start of next month.

Victories over King’s Lynn, Cambridge United and last Saturday’s 2-0 success against Curzon Ashton has bagged the Aggborough club £62,500 in prize money and there is a further £75,000 on the line against Coventry in the next round.

Harriers have also been raking in the cash through the turnstiles with a series of improved attendances in recent matches.

More than 2,000 turned up for last Saturday’s FA Cup clash, with 2,403 filling Aggborough for the 1-0 victory over Wrexham.

Yates’ men also have the visit of Salisbury City to come in Blue Square Premier this afternoon before hosting Mansfield Town on Tuesday evening.

The manager said: “I know money is tight at the moment and especially at this time of year, but the fans can make a difference. We had a lot more than normal on Saturday and it gave the players a boost.

“I have not spoken to the chairman about new signings, but he and the club’s board have backed us so far this season.

“We have gone over budget this season but they have never stopped us from getting players in if we need them.

“I’m sure if Neil (Howarth, assistant manager) and I identify a player and tell the board we want them they will see what they can do.”

Meanwhile, Harriers need to rearrange their home league match against Crawley because it clashes with the FA Cup date at Coventry.

Also, the Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter-final at Stourbridge, postponed on Tuesday because of a frozen pitch, has yet to be rescheduled.
