DROITWICH Under 16s put up a good battle but were knocked out of the North Midlands Cup 16-7 by Silhillians.
In a close match, both teams probed from the start and Droitwich conceded a penalty, which resulted in three points.
The half then became a positional game but a kick fell for Silhillians to scramble over for the first try in the corner.
Droitwich pressured from the restart with some of their best moves of the game, allowing Sam O’Brien to sprint in and George Bishop converted.
With Droitwich 8-7 down at half-time, Silhillians defended well in the second period and broke away to score a crucial try in the corner.
They added a late penalty to extend the lead.
