WORCESTER’S Nunnery Wood High School’s year 11 football team claimed the Worcestershire Schools Cup with a 3-1 triumph over Christopher Whitehead Language College.
The victors have previously reached two cup finals and two semi-finals without winning the prestigious competition.
Nunnery Wood’s under 16s, who have won the city league in each of the last five years, now enter the national cup after the Christmas break.
The goals came from Tom Corbett (2) and Jamie Sauntson.
Captain Ben Evans drove the team on from midfield with his energy and composure on the ball.
