Having comfortably despatched FA Cup minnows Curzon Ashton, Kidderminster Harriers were hoping to land a big fish when the third round draw was made.
The Unibond North Division visitors, who are 70 places below Kidderminster in football’s pecking order, were never at the races.
They defended stubbornly but Harriers were always too good for them and will never get an easier £30,000 payday, taking their FA Cup earnings to £62,500 this season.
Harriers assistant manager Neil Howarth said: “We did what we had to do. It was never going to be easy but it was a job well done.
“It doesn’t matter how dominating you are, at 1-0 anything can happen — even against 10 men — and so we did need that second goal. And when we got it, all the nerves went.
“I thought Stefan Moore and Matthew Barnes-Homer up front were excellent. They caused defenders all sorts of problems.
“When you have strength and pace like they have, they are very hard to play against.”
A goal in each half from Moore and skipper Mark Creighton were enough for the Aggborough side, and keeper Adam Bartlett will rarely get a quieter afternoon.
Harriers went for the jugular from the start and were unlucky when a Martin Riley volley hit the outside of a post after only three minutes.
The home side dominated play without being able to get the vital breakthrough but they were given a lift when Curzon were reduced to 10 men on the half-hour.
Goalkeeper David Carnell was dismissed when he ran out of goal and brought down Moore in full flight after the big striker had burst through the visitors back line.
Eight minutes later Harriers opened the scoring when Keith Lowe’s curling left-wing cross caused panic in the visitors’ six-yard box and Moore stabbed he ball in from close-range.
After the break the pattern of play remained the same, with Harriers having little trouble at the back while pressing for a second goal to kill off their plucky opponents’ hopes.
It came in the 65th minute when Creighton moved in unchallenged to head home Martin Brittain’s corner from the right.
The home side had plenty of chances to add to their tally but the nearest they came was in the closing stages when Darryl Knights rattled a post with a 20-yard free-kick.
