MANAGER Joe Rawle feels the future is in good hands at Malvern Town.
The Langland Stadium outfit are currently second-from-bottom in British Gas Business Division One Midlands and have only taken eight points from their 15 fixtures.
However, they won their first match 2-1 at Arlesey Town at the start of the month and only lost 2-1 at Bromsgrove Rovers last Saturday after conceding in injury-time.
Malvern head to fellow strugglers Dunstable Town tomorrow (3pm) looking to build on those performances and put more space between themselves and basement boys Woodford United.
The majority of Rawle’s team is made up of youngsters — strikers Joe Kings and Nick Ingram are 16 and 17-years-old respectively — and the manager is full of praise for the players.
He said: “It was a bit disappointing at Bromsgrove after doing so well for 90 minutes because we thought we had got a point.
“The lads worked really hard and defended really well. It’s the same wherever we go — people say we haven’t got a bad side. It’s nice for them to say that but it’s not nice when you haven’t got anything to show for it.
“I am pretty certain, if it doesn’t happen this year, that we will be a good side eventually.
“There are a lot of young lads and, to be fair, they are learning every week so there’s light at the end of the tunnel because we have got quality players coming through.”
Centre-half Adam Harris returns from suspension for the trip to Bedfordshire.
