STOURPORT Swifts goals are a rare commodity at the moment as they slip nearer the bottom of British Gas Business Division One Midlands.
What started as a blip has become a major dilemma for the Walshes Meadow side as only basement boys Woodford United have scored less goals this season.
You have to go back seven matches to September 30 for the last time a Swifts player hit the target as the consolation in their 4-1 defeat at Chasetown 10 days ago was an own goal.
Swifts have only gleaned nine goals form 14 league matches in the current campaign and that task does not look like getting any easier when they host Chesham United tomorrow (3pm).
The Generals are unbeaten in five league games and have several fixtures in hand on the promotion-chasing pack.
Chairman Chris Reynolds said: “It’s going to be a hard game. Chesham are flying so it will be difficult but hopefully we can get something out of it at home.
“We are desperately in need of goals. It’s a problem which we are going to have to deal with.”
Centre-half Todd Perry serves the second of a three-game ban, while midfielder Richard Tomkins is available before serving a three-match suspension for his red card against Chasetown.
