EVESHAM United manager Paul West has praised his team as they continue to climb the British Gas Business Premier Division table.
The Robins head to lowly Brackley Town tomorrow looking to record their fifth clean sheet in a row and sixth in seven league matches.
During that time, United have risen to eighth in the standings and although they have only scored six goals in that spell, West is pleased with the progress.
He said: “The clean sheets are a compliment to the defensive players that we have in terms of making sure we don’t concede.
“But we look good going the other way and we look dangerous so I am pretty pleased all round. It’s even more pleasing that payers have come in and settled quite quickly.” On-loan Worcester City forward Tory Wood and Danny Lennon are expected to keep their places for the trip to St James Park to face a side who have not won for three matches.
The pair were both on target in Evesham’s 2-0 victory over Banbury United on Tuesday, just hours after Lennon returned to the club.
Manager West decided the forward’s attitude was not right and released him ahead of the 0-0 draw at Corby but took him back after Lennon called to apologise.
The Robins boss said: “Danny phoned me and I listened to what he had to say. He apologised for certain things that led to him leaving the club and he told me what he was going to do to put it right if given the opportunity.
“We have given him a second chance to come back and we threw him straight in and he grabbed his opportunity with both hands.”
Mark Hands is a doubt with a long-standing groin problem, while fellow midfielder Michael Hayden returns from holiday.
