WORCESTERSHIRE duo Stephen Moore and Steven Davies are returning to UK with the England Performance Programme squad following the terror attacks in Mumbai.
The pair had arrived in India last week with the rest of squad, but following yesterday’s attacks in Mumbai the England and Wales Cricket Board have have said that they will return home immediately.
The squad were due to play their first match in Bangalore on Sunday before travelling to the troubled city on Wednesday.
Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said that the club had been in contact with both players.
“They are both OK,” he said. “They are aware of the situation in Mumbai and are a little shaken.”
The ECB have already postponed the remaining one-day internationals in India and will make an announcement on the future of the two Tests, which are set to begin next month, in the near future.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India have also postponed the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League tournament which Middlesex Crusaders and former Worcestershire overseas player Steve Magoffin were due to take part in.
