SHEFFIELD Sharks extracted some revenge for the 109- 100 defeat suffered at the hands of the Worcester Wolves earlier in the season by picking up a comfortable 100-81 victory at the EIS, Sheffield on Wednesday evening.

The Sharks' victory moves them up into sixth position in the BBL Championship table. An Anthony Paez three-pointer opened the scoring for the Wolves, but the home side responded with a 17-6 burst to take the early lead at 17-9 midway through the opening period.

A further 13-7 Sharks tear to close out the opening quarter took the score out to 30-19. The second quarter saw the Sharks continue to stretch out the lead, and an 18-9 tear to close out the half saw the Sharks lead 56-31 going into the locker rooms at the half.

The second-half saw the Wolves attempting to get themselves back into the game, and a 17-5 Wolves burst got the score back to 69-52 before a succession of free-throws from the Sharks took the score out again to 75-58 going into the final stanza.

In the final period, the Wolves continued to attempt to get themselves back into the game, but the Sharks were able to hold onto for the all-important victory.

Chris Sanders led all scorers in the game with 27 points for the Sharks, while a combination of Skouson Harker and Paez led the Wolves scoring with 20 points a-piece.
