HEREFORD conceded three second-half goals to lose for the eighth time in nine League One away trips.

And if the result was not bad enough, Hereford lost their on-loan goalkeeper Matt Murray early in the second period after the Wolves man slipped in clearing the ball and damaged his knee.

Hereford boss Graham Turner, who made five changes for last Saturday’s visit of Northampton, made five more for the trip to Milton Keynes.

Nick Chadwick and Andy Williams comprised a new front pairing while Simon Johnson and Matt Done were given a chance on the flanks.

The other change saw Kris Taylor who, by general consensus, had been unfortunate to be left out against Northampton, restored to the left-back berth.

This more attacking line-up saw Hereford create a couple of chances in the early stages.

Both Taylor and Williams had shooting opportunities but failed to hit the target.

Dons also had their moments in attack — Jason Puncheon sent a fierce drive flashing just wide while Sam Baldock should really have done better after beating the Bulls’ offside trap, but dragged his shot wide of the target.

The passing of Toumani Diagouraga and the pace of Done on the left were promising features for Hereford as the half progressed.

But it took a fine tackle by Karl Broadhurst to dispossess Baldock when Dons went back on the attack.

Six minutes into the second half, Hereford fans had to witness the sad sight of Murray being stretchered off.

And things went downhill from there with Peter Leven beating Craig Samson from the spot six minutes later after a foul by Broadhurst on Miguel Angel Llera. Then, Baldock got away from Taylor on the right and his cross was bundled in at the near post by Mark Wright.

Two minutes from time, Johnson rounded off a disappointing night with an excellent run and shot which defeated Samson.
