LOCK Will Bowley staked his claim for a first-team recall with a brace of tries as Worcester Warriors ‘A’ defeated Henley Hawks 42-0.
Bowley, making his first start since suffering a broken thumb two months ago and playing in the back row, grabbed a double as Andrew Stanley’s men produced a late show to run away from their spirited hosts.
Centre Alex Grove (2), number eight Matt Cox, wing Charlie Fellows and Luke Davies were also on the scoresheet.
Academy assistant manager Gary Meechan said: “Henley gave us a big physical contest before our fitness allowed us to put some tries on them in the closing stages.
“The game was a real opportunity for the team to get some more game time and first-teamers, like Will Bowley, to have a very useful run-out. It was a good team effort by all the players.”
