KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Mark Yates wants the games to keep on coming as they continue their charge in the Blue Square Premier.
The Aggborough men head to Oxford United tonight (7.45) looking to move into third place and one point off the summit.
Harriers, according to Yates, rode their luck in the 1-0 victory over Wrexham, while Oxford crashed 5-2 at league leaders Histon. The Kidderminster manager is expecting a backlash at the Kassam Stadium.
“Their result couldn’t have been worse for us,” he said. “Not only did they get thrashed, but it was against a team up there with us. “They’ll want to put that right, so we need to make sure that we are ready.
“We will go there full of confidence and, luckily for us, at the moment the games are coming thick and fast.”
Yates will be without leading scorer Justin Richards after he was taken to hospital with an eye injury on Saturday.
The former Oxford loanee temporarily lost sight in one eye after being struck in the face by the ball. Richards has regained his vision but will miss this game and the FA Cup second round clash with Curzon Ashton on Saturday.
With the club’s hotshot out, Yates will now look to either Stefan Moore or Darryl Knights to partner Matthew Barnes-Homer.
Meanwhile, Kidderminster have been handed a home tie in the FA Trophy first round after being drawn against Blue Square North basement boys Burscough on Saturday, December 13.
