EVESHAM United boss Paul West believes his side can continue to “punch above their weight” and make the British Gas Business Premier Division play-offs this season.
The Robins, who welcome Banbury United to St George’s Lane tomorrow night (7.45), have only been beaten twice in the league following promotion last term.
West’s men have already created history by reaching the first round of the FA Cup and now the focus is on taking the next step up the non-league ladder.
“We’ve no divine right to be in this league but we are here and are continuing to punch above our weight,” West said.
“There is no reason why we can’t reach the play-offs but we have got to keep working hard.
“I know people may think that we are a bit negative because of the clean sheets that we have had but, on Saturday, I played three up-front and it was 0-0.”
Evesham have several games in hand on the teams around them in the league following their cup heroics.
The Puritans head to the Lane after having the weekend off.
Banbury’s form has been a little unpredictable this season and they have only picked up three points on their travels.
