FIELDING a weakened team on their travels proved costly again for Bromyard Town when their recent good run ended with a 2-1 defeat at Shawbury United.
The home team opened the scoring in the fourth minute when a long clearance by their keeper deceived the visitors’ defence and Lee outpaced them to slot home.
Bromyard kept pressing in a fairly even West Midlands League Premier contest and were rewarded in the 37th minute when Lee Thorp equalised.
They had slightly the better of things after the break but, with 15 minutes left, Steve McCullough’s back-pass was handled by keeper Darren Knurek and the free-kick from six yards was blasted home.
