PLAYER-coach Skouson Harker praised his troops for an excellent 109-100 British Basketball League win over Sheffield Sharks at the University of Worcester.
It was the fifth time in the last six games Wolves had scored more than 100 points and Anthony Paez was the star performer.
Paez turned on an offensive master-class with a haul of 39 points as well as numerous steals, rebounds and assists.
Harker said: “Sheffield came here a month or so ago and beat us by nine and now we have reversed that result by exactly the same margin.
“It is an indication of how much work we have done in training and how hard the squad is working to get results.
“We travel to Sheffield for another league game against Sharks tomorrow and need to keep our recent improved form going if we are to cement our play-off aspirations.”
Paez got the first score of the game with a flying two-pointer. Wolves ran up an early 11-4 lead and maintained the advantage throughout.
Sharks were never allowed to pose a real threat by a battling side determined to avenge a recent home cup defeat.
Wolves led by four after the first period and by 12 at half-time. Paez and Vidmantis Uzkuraitis contributed 11 triples between them.
The Lithuanian scored 22 points but the all-action Harry Disy did even better with 24.
They were grateful to another impressive game from American Will Funn on the point.
He contributed 14 assists and four steals to provide the link-up play for the attackers.
Sharks did produce one good run to reduce the deficit to just five points in the third quarter but it was to no avail.
Harker and Justin Brown put in good displays with double-digit personal scores.
A poor start, and a slower finish, resulted in a disappointing 110-102 defeat for Wolves at Milton Keynes Lions.
In the second and third quarters, Wolves showed scoring punch but a lack of consistency led to their downfall.
Lions tore into a 32-24 first-quarter deficit but Wolves cut the lead to 61-57 at half-time.
Harker was in particularly fine form with 31 points but Brown and Disy were racking up the fouls.
Wolves took the lead 73-69 at one point but were 87-85 behind by the end of the third and they slumped to a bigger defeat in the final quarter. Paez added 27 points.
