MALVERN Town conceded a goal in the first minute of time added on, which cruelly denied them a point in their British Gas Business Divsion One Midlands clash with local rivals Bromsgrove Rovers at the Victoria Ground.
The hosts kicked downhill for the first-half and, despite plenty of possession, were unable to create many opportunities However, Jason Taylor did head the ball wide when it looked easier to score in the 23rd minute.
Malvern took the lead four minutes later when the ball was played up the right-hand side.
A cross came into the box and was cleared to Joe Kings on the right and he headed it back to Craig Malins to head home.
This spurred Bromsgrove into life and 10 minutes later they then hit the bar twice within a minute.
Firstly Kevin Banner’s shot cannoned off the woodwork before Sam Alsop’s cross- shot grazed the bar.
Craig Humphries then saved brilliantly with his legs following a shot from Graham Deakin.
The visiting team started the second-half brightly, but were unable to get a second goal and gradually began to get nervous trying to hold onto their lead.
The hosts forced several corners, one of which was cleared off the line by Town defender Andy Crowther.
From the resulting corner, Malvern’s defence finally cracked and Barry Woolley, the former Worcester City centre-half, was left unmarked to head home Kevin Banner’s flag-kick.
Joe Rawle’s side responded and Nick Ingram saw his shot blocked by James Dormand in the Bromsgrove goal.
But, just as the game was drawing to a 1-1 conclusion, Rovers substitute Nathaniel White smashed the ball into Malvern’s net to grab all three points for Bromsgrove.
