MALVERN Town manager Joe Rawle is confident his side can bring Bromsgrove Rovers back down to earth when the sides meet on Saturday (3pm).

Rovers recorded a 2-1 victory at Leamington in the Birmingham Senior Cup third round on Tuesday for their first win in three matches.

However, Rod Brown’s side have still lost four of their last five British Gas Business Division One Midlands fixtures and are just six points above Malvern in the table ahead of the Victoria Ground clash.

Town go into the game on the back of a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Nuneaton Town but have been buoyed of late with victory at Arlesey.

Rawle knows it will be a tough test against the Greens but insists Rovers will not have it all their own way.

He said: “They are having a bit of a rough time at the moment so we are hoping to go there and get something out of the game.

“I think we can spoil the party and get a result but it depends what frame of mind we’re in. It’s always going to be a tough task.

“I don’t know what to make of Bromsgrove this season, they seem to be struggling at the moment. We don’t want it to be the start of them getting back on track.

“I don’t know what kind of side they have got as Rod Brown only took over four or five weeks ago.”

Malvern midfielder Jamie Hyde remains on the sidelines with a fractured eye socket and centre-half Adam Harris is suspended.

Wes Joyce could be fit to fill the gap in defence, while youth team midfielder Mason Mansfield and striker Joe Kings could feature.

Midfielder Phil Harris has also extended his loan from Chasetown for another month.

Former Worcester City defender Barry Woolley could be a Bromsgrove player in time for the match after being told he can leave Unibond Division One South side Gresley Rovers.

Boss Brown is also hoping Rovers skipper Dennis Pearce will be fit to face Malvern.
