WORCESTER Wanderers thrashed Edwardians 59-6 at Sixways in Midlands Four West (South).
The hosts started strongly, but found themselves three points down following a converted Edwardians penalty.
From the restart, Wanderers surged forward and, following some good interplay, Wilkinson scored in the corner. The conversion was missed.
Wanderers then exchanged penalties with Edwardians.
Despite having plenty of possession, the home team spurned several opportunities — four times the try-scoring pass was adjudged to be forward.
Following a period of Wanderers pressure, there was a scrum five metres from the Edwardians line for the visitors.
Simon James took the strike against the head and Luke Denton raced on to score in the corner.
The conversion was missed, but the Worcester side led 13-6 at the interval.
The second-half began with Wanderers dominating possession and raising the pace of the game.
Three tries in the third quarter from Fincher, Ohlson and James, the latter converted by Sparrey, left the Wanderers in control.
With 16 minutes to play Edwardians lost a prop forward to injury and the game went to uncontested scrums.
The visitors battled gamely, but Wanderers’ fitness had a telling effect.
Further tries from Jake Saddington, Ohlson, Watson, Denton and Collins, with two conversions from Fincher, completed the scoring in an emphatic victory.
