MEADOW Park are embarking on a £200,000 project to continue playing at their home.
Health and safety concerns meant Park were asked by owners LG Harris to segregate the playing fields in Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, from the factory or find a new ground.
After spending more than £1,000 in getting planning permission to carry out work and update facilities, they must now raise £20,000 for the first phase of the £200,000 scheme.
But Stourport Youth League side Park’s plight has been helped by Stoke Prior factory PolymerLatex and their partners DHL and ABB, who have donated £3,000.
Andreas Ostrowicki, managing director of PolymerLatex, said: “After hearing about the club’s predicament and realising that not only the facilities were at stake but also the opportunities for the local children, we decided to get in touch and find out how we, together with DHL and ABB, could help.
“We were impressed by the level of dedication and passion shared by the volunteer coaches and other members of staff and realised just how much this club meant to the local community and the children who attend it.”
Park, who have more than 250 members and 11 teams, are applying for a grant from the Football Foundation.
They want to build separate changing and shower facilities so their girls’ teams can return to the ground and they aim to establish a disabled team.
