BROMSGROVE were not convincing but returned to winning ways with a 21-13 success over Cheltenham North in Midlands Two West.
The Boars dominated most aspects of play during the first-half and took the lead with two Ben Copson penalties.
While Copson kicked well from hand as well, Duncan Roke provided a strike option from full-back and Warren Oliver proved pacey and elusive on the wing.
Bromsgrove added to their lead when Dan Quinn made space for openside flanker Jon Ward to score a unconverted try.
But ill-discipline led to four consecutive penalties being awarded to Cheltenham and the try that resulted before half-time was a lifeline to the visitors.
Cheltenham displayed a plucky spirit for the first 20 minutes of the second-half and reduced the lead to 11-8 with a penalty.
The Boars responded with another Copson penalty only for the Gloucestershire side to bag another unconverted try.
With a just a point between the teams, Bromsgrove started to play with more direction and tireless skipper Richard Arnold secured plenty of ball.
Nigel Burrows grabbed a crucial try from a scrum 10 metres out and Copson converted to complete the scoring.
