STOURPORT suffered their fourth Slazenger English League Men’s Conference West defeat of the season.
They went down 2-0 at home to rivals Bournville who scored through Chris Todd and Joseph Middleton but also missed a penalty flick.
The women’s first team recorded their biggest win of the season in West Midlands Division One by trouncing Edgbaston 7-0 at home.
Buoyed by the return of coach Mark Moss, who had not been available for the last five weeks, the ladies tore their Birmingham-based opponents apart from the outset.
Stourport opened the scoring in the second minute, when Jodi Vincent finished off a fine passing move.
The home team continued to pressure the visitors and were rewarded when Sophie Harris put the ball past Edgbaston’s goalkeeper.
After only 15 minutes Stourport were 3-0 up, when player-of-the-match Hannah Goss scored the first of her hat-trick.
The hosts started the second-half in the same fashion as the first, with their back four creating numerous chances.
Fran Moss produced a 50-yard pass for Goss to net.
Three goals, from Vincent, Liz Cooke and Goss, in 10 minutes rounded off the win.
The seconds lost 3-1 at home to Harborne, despite Caroline Siddell scoring.
Katie Spencer, Teresa Moss and Louise Bagnall sc-ored as the third team defeated Droitwich 3-1.
The fourths suffered a heavy 8-0 loss to Harborne’s third team.
Molly Weaver scored as the Under 15 girls lost 5-1 to Cannock in the cup.
The Under 15 boys won a penalty shoot-out 5-4 against Leek.
The Under 18 boys beat Edgbaston 14-0, with Oli Drew (4), Charlie Smith (2), Dan Baylis (2), Dan Hurley (3), Jon Hollway (2) and Joel Dudley scoring.
