WARRIORS head coach Clive Griffiths has tipped the Sixways academy conveyor belt to keep on rolling because of the solid links that have been forged with community teams.
More than 125 coaches from across the West Midlands attended Griffiths’ recent coaching clinic, which was one element of Warriors’ community development programme.
Griffiths talked in detail about his coaching philosophy and approach to team attack to the audience, which included former Welsh international Jason Forster, now director of rugby at Henley Hawks.
Griffiths said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and was impressed with the knowledge and insight of the coaches attending and the players that took part.
“We have already seen the value of a strong academy programme with the emergence of 12 players in the last two years graduating through the academy to represent the club in the Guinness Premiership.
“This success starts in their clubs and with their club coaches. With this in mind, supporting the development of the game at every level bodes well for continued success.”
