WESTFIELDS’ poor away run continued in the Midland Alliance, going down 2-1 at Friar Lane and Epworth.

They have now lost all four games on their travels but a draw was not beyond them in Leicestershire.

After trailing 2-0 at the interval, they gave a much better second-half performance.

Despite scoring a fine goal, Fields hit the woodwork on three occasions and saw Mark Hibbard miss a sitter. The Hereford side had the wind in their faces in the first-half and fell behind in the 18th minute.

A corner was punched clear by Jon Pugh but the ball fell for Kelvin Phillips to put Friar Lane ahead. Fields went close before the hosts extended their lead through Phillips.

After the break, Cory Hyde hit the bar before Danny Hill curled home a superb shot from distance on the hour.

Hibbard shot wide from six yards, while Jamie Edwards clipped the woodwork. They host Ledbury Town in the Herefordshire FA Senior Floodlit Trophy first round tomorrow night (7.30).

Meanwhile, Pegasus Juniors hammered Bicester Town 6-1 for their biggest Hellenic League win since returning to the Premier Division nine years ago.

Ben Price, James Kyberd, Steve Smith and Simon Gwynne scored with Anthony Robbins adding two penalties.

Bromyard Town gave West Midlands League Premier leaders Wulfrunians a battle before losing 1-0 at home.

The visitors started well and created some chances but poor finishing let them down.

As the game progressed, Bromyard frustrated Wulfrunians and went close when Matt Graham was denied by a fine save on 35 minutes.

Both teams cancelled each other out until the 72nd minute when Wulfrunians bagged a scrappy winner.
